BLOGGING FOR BUSINESS (6 weeks)
Learn to understanding the blogging platform and how a blog (short for web log) can become the personal "face" of your company, keep in touch with customers, attract attention and buzz and be a tool for contually driving traffic to your website.

Learn how to set up a blog, write posts that will get read, engage the public, and hear what the public is saying about your company, service or product.

Each week, students will be provided with documentation on that weeks lesson, a 10 minute video highlighting key points, lists of additional resources for that weeks lesson, and the opportunity to get assistance not only from the instructor, but from fellow students - via a posting platform built into the online interface.

By the end of the six week session (comprised of 6 weekly classes), students will have ....
1. set up a blog, written ten posts
2. learned how to edit photos
3. set up a YouTube channel, and learned video basics
4. Set up a Google Adsense Account
5. Learned search engine optimization techniques
6. Learned how to get more followers
7. Gained an understanding for monitizing a blog
8. Learned the steps for writing engaging content
9. Learned how to use other social media platforms to drive traffic.
10 Learn how to develop a 30 day blog post plan.

- Headshot & Bio

- Some Legal and Ethical points

Assignment - Peparation 4 & 5
- Get a headshot ready
- Write your Bio / Profile
- Identify 5 to 7 Categories
- Come up with five to ten blog post ideas that fit your categories
- Static Pages - Will You need any? If so name them.

CLASS 3 - BLOG CONTENT

Set up your blog via Blogger or Wordpress using all that you gathered in Preparation Steps 1-5.
Define niche
- Enter name, categories, headshot, profile, static pages, Subscribe feed
- Enter your first blog post

CLASS 4 - GETTING FOLLOWERS
-Using your blog bank
- SEO techniques
- Using Google Analytics
- Registering with Technorati
- Social Media - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube
- Guest Bloggers
- New Content in variety of niches

Assignment - Do three more blog posts. Using Social Media, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, begin promoting your posts. Engage in conversation on other blogs making at least ten thoughtful comments. Set up a Google Analytics account to monitor your blog. Register with technorati

CLASS 5 - WIDGETS & GADGETS & MONITIZING
- Social Media Widgets
- Top Post Widgets
- Feed / Subscribe Widgets

- Working with Affiliates

Assignment - Do three more blog posts
- Add three Widgets or Gadgets to your blog.
- Set up a Google Adsense account

CLASS 6 - PLANNING, TIMING, STRATEGIZING
- Developing a blog post plan that allow flexibility
- Blogging from a mobile devise
- Developing a YouTube to Channel to feed video to blog
- Interviewing key people in your niche
- Using your blog to get noticed.
- Broadcast Yourself - News, Press Releases, Video, Photos
- Checking the stats to determine trends and interest

Assignment - Do three more blog posts
- Set up a YouTube Channel as a sister site to your blog
- Conduct one interview of interest and develop a post around it.
- Add one video to your YouTube Channel and post it
- Develop a 30 day blog post plan
