Haunted Tours led by
Mindie Burgoyne

Just added - Halloween Tour of East Dorchester 10/23

Take a tour through the Eastern Shore countryside and visit sites known to be haunted or associated with tales of the dead.

Author, Mindie Burgoyne takes guest on a journey that includes legendary haunted places and lesser known sites associated with mystical or paranormal activity.  A luxury tour bus is the vehicle that carries guests down country roads, through some of the most scenic landscapes in the Mid Atlantic region, while Burgoyne points out locations that highlight the Eastern Shore's haunted past and present.  Guests are able to deboard the bus at public sites and get a closer look.  See upcoming tours.

Mindie Burgoyne has spent years researching haunted sites in Maryland, garnering information from public libraries, old newspapers, folklore collections, and residents.  Her research has been used by many other authors and media professionals including the National Geographic Television Network.  Her approach with each site follows a three-step process.

1. the history of the site
2. the haunted tale or legend associated with the site
3. what people say about the site today ... is it haunted?

SEPTEMBER 29TH - PICTORIAL JOURNEY - STORYTELLING -  ON HAUNTED EASTERN SHORE

FIRST IN A 3-PART SERIES

They walk beside the murky waters of the Chesapeake Bay, linger among the fetid swamps and roam the manor halls. These are the tormented souls who refuse to leave the sites of their demise. From pitiless smugglers to reluctant brides, the ghostly figures of the Eastern Shore are at once terrifying and tragic.

Join Mindie Burgoyne on a spine-tingling journey as she recounts the grisly events at the Cosden Murder Farm and the infamous legend of Patty Cannon and how her skull became separated from her pitiful remains. Tread the foggy lanes of Kent Manor Inn and linger among Revolutionary War dead to discover the otherworldly occupants of Maryland’s most haunted shore.

The first part of this adventure is an in class discussion and pictorial journey to the sites. Two bus trips that explore the sites by county will follow in October (students register for bus trips separately). Course fee is $24. Class held at the Wye Mills Campus. Thursdays, 9/29/10, 6-8 pm.
